Gallery Wall Ideas: How to Arrange Art Like a Pro
A gallery wall is one of the most impactful things you can do with a blank wall. Here’s how to do it right, confidently, the first time.
Plan Before You Hang
Trace each frame on paper, cut them out, and tape the paper templates to the wall. Rearrange until you’re happy. This takes 20 minutes and saves hours of re-hanging.
The Three Arrangement Styles
Grid (Most Controlled)
Same-sized frames in rows and columns. Clean and modern. Matching frame sets.
Salon-Style (Most Eclectic)
Different sizes and shapes, covering the wall densely. Start with the largest piece at eye level, build outward. Keep 2-3 inches between frames. Mixed frame sets.
Linear Row (Most Minimal)
One horizontal row at eye level. Simple and impossible to get wrong. Great over a sofa or in a hallway. Matching frame trios.
